Literature Text

There's a place in the wall no one knows,
a tiny little crack.
Where the wind never
blows; and the rain never

Somewhere where the sun doesn't shine.

People don't notice the crack,
because it's just a thing.
Don't care about what's inside,
because it's just a thing.
And people never question "things."

Because for now, the sun shines on them.

So it doesn't matter if you don't notice,
or if the rain never blows;
The wind never falls.
Alice shan't have to look inside the rabbit hole.
And I shouldn't have to seek her.

The hand I take,
The life at stake,
should
shouldn't
maybe
be mine.
I've been having a horrible case of writer's block lately.
Yeah I know, get it a lot. Dunno if it's school starting or the crapload of work I have, coupled with a workshop tomorrow and work on Monday.

Anyway, in English we were exploring the theme of suffering in the poem Musee de Beaux Art and the short story The Yellow Wallpaper. Then we had to write a poem. Dunno if it was the need to show off (LOL, shame on me) or the fact I was pressured into writing a poem in 10 minutes but I think it came out good. At least the teacher said it was good. I'm being a show off aren't I? Never mind me, just enjoy as always!

EXPLANATION: Both writings above talk about people as not caring about someone else suffering, or not noticing it. The poem reflects my thoughts on what suffering is for me. The first section basically talks about how I isolate myself, going onto the next part which conveys that people don’t really notice because (1) they don’t care and (2) I hide myself away. The third section talks about the “secret yearning” for someone to reach out in the “right” way. We all want some comfort but sometimes when people offer it and try, it just doesn’t come out the way you want it to.
