Because if you did, then I wouldn't have to sigh in the halls when I see her trying to get all over you. I see that she's funny. I see that she's nice. But in the end, it doesn't really matter what I see; it's what you see. And that leads to the question of what do you see? Do you see someone who's just a friend or someone more?

While that grace period lasted, we had our little jokes and rendezvous in the school hallways. We had our hugs and laughs, our own way of exchanging notes in classes through folded paper hearts. We had even more before that. It's like you once said: I hold more memories of you than anybody else. It's the two of us who have our secret inside jokes. From "mario on steroids" to "vampires with CB radios." I'm the friend that watched you grow up playing Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh and all the other embarrassing moments.

So I really just have to ask, and I'm dying to know, are you just playing around? I am the little sister or should I be something more? I'll be alright with whatever you choose, but not really.

You could blame it on my nerves. And my jealousy. Among my closest girlfriends we're the "unofficial" couple. In my mind, we're the unofficial "one-sided" couple. It'll be a million years before I break my parents' rule of no dating until after college. Your mother and father tell you the same thing anyway. In the end I doesn't really matter then, does it?
